Jones County has lifted the burn ban for Jones County. Jones County no longer has a burn ban and requests its citizens to exercise extreme caution regarding outdoor burning in Jones County. Persons conducting outdoor buming should be aware of surrounding conditions and weather conditions before any controlled burns. Any persons conducting large control bum events should contact Jones County Dispatch at 325 823-4604 to report location and time of controlled burn to avoid unnecessary response from volunteer fire departments. Persons responsible for fires may be held personally responsible for any damages caused by a fire or smoke.
