Description
A few weeks ago, a forester from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) joined our Public Works crew for a walk-through of Lawrence Park Township’s parks!
During the visit, our crew learned more about:
🌲 The different types of trees found throughout our Township
🌱 Which trees grow best in our local soil and environment
🪵 Proper tree and brush maintenance, including park safety
🍄 Honey Fungus and the damage it can cause to trees in our area
The forester also identified several trees that posed safety concerns and were marked for immediate removal. You may have noticed some of these trees recently removed from our parks.
We appreciate DCNR sharing their knowledge and helping our Public Works team better understand how to care for our trees, maintain safe parks, and protect these important community spaces for years to come! 💚
