Description
🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT UPDATE: I-45 / SH 6 / SH 146 CLOSURES 🚧
🌧️ Mother Nature had other plans!
Due to weather conditions last weekend, TxDOT’s contractor was unable to complete the previously scheduled traffic switch. The construction and associated closures have now been RESCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND!
📅 Saturday, October 10 – Monday, October 12
⏰ 9:00 PM Saturday – 5:00 AM Monday
🚨 WHAT TO EXPECT:
* FULL CLOSURE of the southbound I-45 exit ramp to SH 6/SH 146.
* Alternating double-lane closures on southbound I-45 from FM 519 to SH 6/SH 146.
* Traffic delays and changing traffic patterns throughout the construction area.
🚗 DETOUR INFORMATION:
Motorists traveling southbound on I-45 needing to access SH 6/SH 146 will continue south to the Tiki Island/Virginia Point Road exit, U-turn onto northbound I-45, and take the SH 146/SH 3 exit to access SH 146 and westbound SH 6 toward Bayou Vista, Omega Bay, and Hitchcock.

We encourage motorists to allow additional travel time, remain alert, and use caution when traveling through the construction zone.
As always, construction schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.
