Flood Watch issued September 29 at 2:57PM CDT until October 2 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS San Angelo TX
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following
counties, Brown, Callahan, Coke, Coleman, Concho, Crockett, Fisher,
Haskell, Irion, Jones, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Nolan,
Runnels, San Saba, Schleicher, Shackelford, Sterling, Sutton,
Taylor, Throckmorton and Tom Green.
* WHEN...From 1 AM CDT Wednesday through late Thursday night.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- There is an increased danger to lives and property due to flash
flooding. Flash flooding is likely and considerable flash
flooding is possible.
- Multiple rounds of heavy rain are possible through Thursday night
as an influx of moisture arrives from the remnants of a tropical
disturbance. This will coincide with an approaching upper level
low pressure system and an associated frontal boundary. High
precipitable water values will support efficient rainfall
production with this activity. Model guidance suggests heavy rain
and thunderstorms capable of producing rainfall totals in the 2
to 4 inch range across the watch area. Locally higher amounts of
8+ inches can occur.
