Free, Family-Friendly Celebration Set for October 2
YORK, PA – Explore York is inviting the community to a free Cultural Fair along N. Pershing Avenue near the York County History Center on Friday, October 2. The event is part of York County’s rescheduled America 250 celebration, continuing the festivities originally planned for July 4, 2026. The family-friendly afternoon will feature local businesses, community organizations, and activities for all ages. Explore York is sponsoring a variety of free activities for attendees, including Maple Donuts, alpaca visits, balloon twisting, face painting, and more.
At 4:30 p.m., attendees are invited to a special Bell Dedication, “The Energy of York County,” by Chelsea Foster.
“We’re excited to bring the community together for an afternoon of fun while highlighting the people, businesses, makers, and organizations that make York County such a special place,” said Laura Wagner, President of Explore York. “There will be something for everyone to enjoy, from family-friendly activities and local vendors to free donuts and plenty of York County spirit.”
The Cultural Fair will take place rain or shine and is free and open to the public.

To accommodate the event, N. Pershing Avenue from Philadelphia Street to Gay Street will be closed, including the section directly in front of the York County History Center entrance and the parking lot across from the History Center’s main entrance.
