Description
Take care of storm drains in front of your home. Fallen leaves, grass clippings, and twigs which collect on top of storm drains block water flow and increase the pooling of water on road surfaces. Reduce the chances of hydroplaning and winter ice accumulation by keeping storm drains clear. Many storm drains discharge into local streams and whatever washes down the storm drain can contaminate a stream. Organic matter eventually decays and can lead to increased nutrient levels in a stream which causes algae formation. Algae is unsightly and reduces oxygen levels for fish and other aquatic critters.
