Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued September 2 at 5:07PM EDT until September 2 at 6:00PM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH
At 506 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Guys Mills, or
9 miles east of Meadville, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. At 505 PM, half dollar size hail
was reported in West Mead Township.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted include...
Meadville, Titusville, Riceville, Lincolnville, Guys Mills, Canadohta
Lake, Cochranton, Saegertown, Hydetown, Blooming Valley, Townville,
Spartansburg, Woodcock, and Geneva.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
