Description
Special Weather Statement issued August 27 at 8:29PM EDT by NWS Binghamton NY
At 828 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Clarks Summit to near Penobscot. Movement
was northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Dunmore, Kingston, Plains, Old Forge,
Pittston, Archbald, Blakely, and Taylor.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
northeastern Pennsylvania.
