Special Weather Statement issued August 27 at 5:03PM EDT by NWS State College PA

At 502 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Progress to Lower Allen. Movement was northeast
at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Harrisburg, Lower Allen, Hershey, Colonial Park, Progress,
Middletown, Camp Hill, New Cumberland, Linglestown, Enola, Steelton,
Lemoyne, Hummelstown, Paxtonia, Rutherford, Skyline View, Lawnton,
Valley Green, Wormleysburg, and Bressler-Enhaut-Oberlin.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
south central Pennsylvania.
