Description
As summer comes to a close, Wyoming Borough wants to wish all of our students, teachers, school staff, and parents a wonderful and successful school year ahead! A new school year brings exciting opportunities, and we are cheering you all on.
With buses back on the road and kids out on the sidewalks, keeping our community safe takes all of us. Please take a moment to review these key bus safety rules:
Driver Safety Rules π
Stop for Red Lights: Motorists traveling in both directions must stop at least 10 feet away when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.
Obey School Zones: Mind all posted speed limits in active school zones during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal times.
Stay Alert: Watch closely for children walking, riding bikes, or waiting at neighborhood bus stops.
Never Pass Stopped Buses: Proceed only after the red lights are turned off, the stop arm is retracted, and all children have safely reached the curb.
Student Bus Stop Rules π
Stand Back: Wait at least 6 feet back from the curb while waiting for the bus to pull up.
Stay Visible: Never walk behind a school bus. When crossing in front, walk at least 10 feet ahead so the driver can see you clearly.
Wait for the Signal: Look left, right, and left again, and always wait for the driver to signal that it is safe to cross.
Letβs all do our part to keep everyone safe. Best of luck for a fantastic school year! πβ¨
