Special Weather Statement issued August 23 at 4:11PM EDT by NWS State College PA

At 411 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Royalton, or near Middletown, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

The strong thunderstorm will be near...
Royalton, Middletown, Valley Green, Highspire and Steelton around
415 PM EDT.
Bainbridge and Hershey around 420 PM EDT.
Elizabethtown, Rheems and Maytown around 430 PM EDT.
Lawn around 435 PM EDT.
Mount Joy and Timber Hills around 440 PM EDT.

Other locations impacted by this strong thunderstorm include Three
Mile Island, Goldsboro, York Haven, Penn State Harrisburg, Harrisburg
International Airport, Newberrytown and Elizabethtown College.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 83 between mile markers 31 and 37. The Pennsylvania
Turnpike between mile markers 244 and 264. Interstate 283 near mile
marker 0.

Seek shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
