Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued August 20 at 4:21PM EDT until August 20 at 5:30PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 421 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Rheems to Safe Harbor to Stewartstown, moving east at
35 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Lancaster, Ephrata, Elizabethtown, Columbia, Lititz, Millersville,
Willow Street, Mount Joy, Red Lion, New Holland, Spry, and Manheim.
This includes the following Interstates...
The Pennsylvania Turnpike from mile markers 265 to 295.
Interstate 83 near mile marker 0, and from mile markers 15 to 17.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
