Recently, there have been several incidents of spotters shining their lights into homes in our area. McKean Township reminds everyone to hunt and recreate responsibly while respecting our community.
Please remember:
It is unlawful to cast a spotlight onto residential buildings, livestock, or other farm animals at any time.
Spotlighting deer is prohibited from 11:00 p.m. until sunrise.
Be respectful of private property and the residents who live nearby. Avoid shining lights toward homes, barns, or occupied properties, and do not enter private land without permission.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping keep our township safe, respectful, and enjoyable for both residents and outdoor enthusiasts.
