Description
Hello Bayou Vista Residents,
The Saconas family played a vital role in the development of Original Bayou Vista, Bayou Vista, and Omega Bay. As many of you know, Ed Saconas passed away last year.
At the June regular City Council meeting, the Council voted to name the property between Bonita and Redfish Saconas Park in his honor.
To further recognize Ed's legacy, the Saltwater Garden Club is raising funds to build a memorial gazebo in Saconas Park. This project will be funded entirely through donations, with no cost to Bayou Vista taxpayers.
As part of the fundraising effort, commemorative brick pavers are available for purchase. You may dedicate a paver in honor or memory of a loved one, family member, friend, business, or special occasion.
If you would like to purchase a paver, please visit Stephanie Laws at City Hall, where order forms are available. At this time, payments can only be made by cash or check. The Saltwater Garden Club has an EIN, so your donation may be tax-deductible if you choose to claim it.
There is no limit to the number of pavers you may purchase. The 4x8 bricks are limited to 3 lines with 20 characters each. $100 per 4"x8" brick.
If you would rather make a financial contribution without purchasing a paver, donations are also welcome. Donors will be recognized with a plaque displayed inside the gazebo.
Thank you in advance for helping us honor Ed Saconas' legacy and for supporting another beautiful addition to our community.
Best regards,
Mayor Danny Rambin
