Description
The threat for severe weather remains on track across the region today as strong thunderstorms develop and move through during the afternoon and evening hours.
The National Weather Service has placed much of western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia under an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) for severe storms.

Several storms could become severe, with the potential for:
đŸŒŦī¸ Damaging winds over 70 mph
🧊 Large hail
đŸŒĒī¸ Isolated tornadoes
đŸŒ§ī¸ Heavy rainfall and flash flooding
🌊 Flood Watch is in effect from 1 PM to 11 PM. Some storms may repeatedly move over the same areas, producing rainfall rates of 3 to 5 inches per hour and leading to rapid flooding of roads, creeks, streams, and other low-lying locations.
⏰ Timing: Greatest concern is from Noon to 8 PM, though storms may occur at other times throughout the day.

Stay Prepared:
âœ”ī¸ Monitor forecasts and have multiple ways to receive warnings.
âœ”ī¸ Charge phones and electronic devices in case of power outages.
âœ”ī¸ Secure outdoor furniture and loose items before storms arrive.
âœ”ī¸ Never drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don't Drown.
âœ”ī¸ Watch for downed trees, broken limbs, and debris after storms pass.
âœ”ī¸ Stay far away from any downed power lines and report hazardous conditions immediately.
âœ”ī¸ Move indoors to a sturdy building when thunderstorms approach.
🚨 If you encounter a life-threatening situation, storm-related injury, trapped motorist, fire, flooding emergency, or dangerous downed power line, call 911 immediately.
