We are aware of Tropical Depression 2, anticipated to become Tropical Storm Bertha.
We are not meteorologists. City Officials will be monitoring the warnings and forecasts from reliable sources and will update via Savvy Citizen if the storm posses a threat to our community.
Be wary of social media posts that predict the worst case scenarios. Check updates from local weather channels or the National Hurricane Center for updates.

This is a great time to get your home ready for a storm, making it stronger against wind and rain. Hopefully, this storm will not affect our area.
PREPARATION, NOT PANIC, IS THE KEY.
Here are some simple steps you can take now:
• If you do not have impact-resistant windows, be prepared to cover your windows with plywood or storm shutters.
• Brace your garage door to help prevent strong winds from forcing it inward.
• Trim tree branches that could fall on your home during high winds.
• Bring in or securely anchor outdoor furniture and decorations.
• Remove or store any loose items that could become airborne in a storm.
• Carry important or valuable items upstairs.
• Lift other items up on blocks or jacks, such as cars, freezers, refrigerators.
Check supplies. Especially if you have consumed them since the last storm threat.
