Community PSA: Help Keep Our Canals Clean

After the recent Canal Cleanup 2026, I wanted to share a few things:
Our canals are one of the things that make our community special. They provide recreation, wildlife habitat, and access to the bay—but they only stay that way if we all do our part.
Please try and keep trash contained in closed top trash cans especially on the canal side of your yard. If you’re out on your boat and see floating trash, lumber, plastic, or other debris that you can safely retrieve, please consider taking a few moments to pick it up and dispose of it properly. A small effort by many people can make a big difference.
Every bottle, bag, or piece of debris removed helps protect our marine life, keeps our waterways safer for navigation, and preserves the beauty of our neighborhood.
This is simply neighbors helping neighbors and taking pride in the place we call home.
Please use good judgment: Only retrieve debris when it is safe to do so. Don’t put yourself, your passengers, or your boat at risk. If you encounter large debris or a hazardous object, report it to the appropriate local authority instead.
