Description
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 5 at 7:46PM EDT until July 5 at 8:30PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ
At 746 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Willow Grove,
or 9 miles north of Philadelphia, moving northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Philadelphia, Bensalem, Bristol, Doylestown, Palmyra, Hatboro,
Ambler, Jenkintown, Beverly, Rockledge, Yardley, Newtown, Tullytown,
Abington, Langhorne, Bryn Athyn, Ivyland, Wissinoming,
Feasterville-Trevose, and Tacony.
People at the St. Michaels Fair should seek safe shelter immediately!
This includes the following highways...
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 333 and 359.
Northeast Extension near mile marker 21.
Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 26 and 40.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors
immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers.
Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck
by lightning.
