Description
CHIPPING
Public Works will start post-storm chipping Tuesday. Follow the guidelines for the regular chipping service. We will make our best effort to accommodate residents. Keep in mind, we have equipment and manpower limitations. Stacking cut ends in one direction for branches 6 inches in diameter or less, on a pile no more than 15 feet long, 4 feet wide and 4 feet high. Material must be placed along a street or alley. We will not enter your property. Chipping service is only available for homeowner cut branches. To be placed on the list, submit a chipping request on our website, or email chipping@hummelstown.gov (address, street or alley pile location, and phone number are needed), or call the Borough Office Monday-Friday 8-4:30.

TRASH SERVICE
Trash is scheduled for pickup Monday. If your street is blocked and you are able to walk your cans outside of the closed area, this will help Republic Services.

RECAP OF POST STORM DAMAGE
Several members of staff were out yesterday and today addressing storm related problems. We observed a common theme, neighbors helping neighbors. For those of you that took a few minutes or few hours out of your holiday weekend to help or check on one another, we offer a big thank you. The Police Department handled calls for service expeditiously, the Fire Department ran numerous calls and opened a temporary shelter, the Mayor kept emergency plans in motion and executed an emergency order, and EMA has completed initial damage assessment. Public Works called in a crew last night and today for emergency clearing of streets to allow all emergency services to take place.
