The Borough is aware of a power outage impacting parts of Tarentum. Borough electric crews have been alerted and will be investigating the issue.
Due to the very high temperatures, we strongly urge residents to reduce electricity consumption where possible while crews respond. Simple steps can help reduce strain on the system, including:
• Raising your air conditioner thermostat a few degrees
• Turning off unnecessary lights
• Avoiding use of large appliances such as washers, dryers, and dishwashers
• Closing blinds or curtains to keep homes cooler
• Unplugging chargers and small appliances not in use
We understand outages are frustrating, especially during extreme heat. Our crews will work to identify the issue and restore service as safely and quickly as possible.
