York County Residents,

York County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is actively coordinating with agencies across the county to ensure we are fully prepared for the impacts of the upcoming extreme heat.

Key Updates:

Shelter Availability: All county shelters have been contacted and are prepared to support residents during periods of extreme heat.

Cooling Centers: Cooling centers are open throughout York County. Please refer to the attached list for locations and hours.

Support for First Responders: Red Cross and Salvation Army canteen services are available to assist first responders during extended emergency operations.

Utility Coordination: OEM has been in communication with Met‑Ed and PP&L to ensure plans are in place to restore power quickly should outages occur.

Public Messaging: Ongoing media outreach is advising residents of the extreme heat and recommended safety precautions.

Incident Command Readiness: OEM is prepared to activate Incident Command if conditions require it.

Monitoring & Coordination: OEM will continue to monitor weather conditions and work closely with community partners to address emerging needs.
