Description
Thank you to our residents for your continued support and effort in helping protect and improve the Borough’s electric system.

Although approximately 10 homes lost power during yesterday’s storm, the overall number of outages in the Borough has declined over the past four years. That progress is not an accident. It is the direct result of several ongoing efforts, including:

• The Borough trimming more trees annually
• Residents trimming trees on their properties that could impact power lines
• The Borough replacing approximately 20 utility poles each year
• Ongoing refurbishment and replacement of transformers

These efforts make a real difference in improving reliability and reducing outages during storms.

We also want to thank everyone who uses the “Report an Outage” tool available on the Borough website, as well as those who have downloaded Savvy Citizen to receive alerts when outages do occur.

We appreciate the community’s continued cooperation as we keep working to strengthen and modernize Tarentum’s electric system.
