Description
The Plymouth Township Trustees will conduct a special meeting at 7:00 p.m. June 16, 2026 at the township hall, 1001 Plymouth Road, Ashtabula.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss how to respond to the Ashtabula County Commissioners’ request for input relating to the construction of “utility scale” (1 megawatt and larger) wind and solar energy projects in the county.
ORC Section 303.58 allows a board of county commissioners to adopt a resolution which would regulate or prohibit the construction of “large wind farms” or “large solar facilities” in certain areas of the county.
The commissioners are in the process of deciding what areas to designate as “restricted areas” in such a resolution. They have asked each township to indicate its preferences in that regard. The Plymouth Township Trustees regular June 16th meeting will immediately follow.
