Description
At the Board of Supervisors Meeting on June 8th at 5PM, the Township Engineer will present the revised plan for the Anchor Run Streambank Restoration Project.
Wrightstown Township is proposing 450 linear feet of stream restoration along a tributary to Neshaminy Creek adjacent to the Anchor Run CSA off of Second Street Pike. This project is being proposed to meet the requirements of the Township’s stormwater permit with the Department of Environmental Protection. After presenting the proposed project at a public meeting, some residents and the Environmental Advisory Committee raised some concerns about the impact of the project on the existing trees along the stream.
The Board of Supervisors asked that it be determined if the project could be modified to address the concerns that were raised. Modifications were proposed to the Department of Environmental Protection that would reduce the impact to existing trees and slopes along the stream channel but continue to provide the benefits required for the reduction of sediment and nutrients in the stream. The proposed modifications were approved and revised plans has been prepared that allow the Township to meet its permit requirement and reduce the impact as requested by the residents.
