The Luzerne Conservation District has shared its latest newsletter to update the public on early-season mosquito control efforts. Due to an early spring warm-up, staff began larval treatments in April, successfully treating 17 acres of flooded habitat to prevent early mosquito emergence.
Highlights from this edition:

๐ New Equipment: The purchase of a second truck sprayer to double community coverage efficiency on high-risk nights.
๐งน Habitat Reduction: Details on a Hanover Township cleanup that removed 120 tires and 60 bags of trash from local waterways.
๐ซ Youth Outreach: A recap of vector safety education provided to 500 local students at Nesbitt Park.
