In Part 1, we shared the Canal Owners Manual and the Bayou Vista Emergency Preparedness Brochure. These documents are available at City Hall or on the City website.
Now let's focus on Pre-Season Planning - Before a Storm
1. Build a kit (Sample Kit Brochure attached)
2. Prepare for pets. Create a specific disaster kit for them and arranging for a safe place to stay, such as a pet-friendly shelter or a boarding facility, well ahead of an evacuation order. (Checklist attached.)
3. Know your Evacuation Zone. It is important that you abide by the evacuation zone directions regarding your zone.
