Hydrant Flushing and What We Are Doing to Improve Your Water

Description
Hydrant flushing will start on May 11th and continue through May 22nd. This important maintenance is necessary to ensure water quality and remove sediment buildup in the distribution system. Flushing helps maintain proper water flow and pressure throughout the Borough and allows us to identify and repair any issues in our system.
The following schedule is subject to change. Beginning on Monday, May 11, 2026, flushing will start on the east side of Tarentum and move westward as the process progresses.
Week 1:
Mon. 5/11 – E 1st through E 2nd
Tue. 5/12 – E 3rd through E 5th
Wed. 5/13– E 7th through E 8th
Thur. 5/14 – E 9th through E 10th
Fri. 5/15 – E 11th and surrounding areas
Sun. 5/17- E 6th Business district. Flushing will occur around midnight to minimize disruptions to businesses.
Week 2:
Mon. 5/18 – W 6th and W 7th areas
Tue. 5/19– W 8th and W 9th areas
Wed. 5/20 – W 10th and W 11th areas
Thur. 5/21 – West Tarentum surrounding areas
Fri. 5/22 – West Tarentum surrounding areas
Please note that during flushing in your area, you may experience low water pressure or temporary water discoloration. If you notice brown or discolored water, briefly run your cold water to clear the line.
