The National Weather Service in League City has issued a
* Special Marine Warning for...
Coastal waters from High Island to Freeport TX out 20 NM...
Galveston Bay...
* Until 1015 AM CDT.
* At 937 AM CDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 nm south of Tabbs Bay to 8 nm west of Eagle Point
to 10 nm northwest of West Bay, moving east at 45 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and small hail.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.
* Locations impacted include...
East Galveston Bay, Galveston Ship Channel, Galveston Bay Entrance,
Galveston Bay, Offatts Bayou, North Jetty, Galveston Pier 21,
Trinity Bay, Smith Point, Galveston Causeway, Rollover Pass, High
Island 63, The Texas City Dike, Eagle Point, and northern West Bay.
Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
