Description
In an effort to keep Plymouth Township clean and orderly, our zoning code prohibits roadside advertising signs in the road right-of-way (ROW). The ROW is loosely defined as the area between the road and the telephone poles.
Signs are permitted on private property, from the telephone poles to the rear property line. Signage of any kind is strictly prohibited on telephone poles.
When the zoning inspector discovers these violations, the signs are removed, and the owners are contacted to inform them of the zoning restrictions.
What can you do to help keep Plymouth beautiful?
If you see a sign in the ROW, feel free to remove the sign and drop it off at the Plymouth Fire Hall. This is the most efficient way to ensure the signs are removed immediately and do not become litter. Disposing of the sign is also acceptable, but it prevents the owner of the sign from being contacted.
Alternately you can take a photo and text it, with the location, to the zoning inspector at 440-536-1944. It will be removed during the inspector's next round of zoning visits.
Our community works best when we all work together. Thank you for your help in keeping Plymouth Township Pleasant, Planned, and Progressive.
