As Tax Collectors, we live and die by the postmark to prove timely payments. Sadly, the April 1st 2025 implementation of the regional transportation optimization by the U.S. Postal Service is resulting in a 1 to 2 DAY DELAY from the time the tax payer drops their payment in the blue box at the street or in the mail slot at the post office. Tax payers should be advised to mail payments at least one week in advance of due date. If you must pay your taxes at the very last minute, In order for your taxes to arrive at the tax office on time, you must go to the post office during business hours and have the postal clerk hand stamp your mail with the postmark. All Latrobe post office mail goes out of the region to Pittsburgh and then returns to be delivered. ALL TAX PAYMENT MAIL MUST BE POST MARKED BY APRIL 30th, 2026.
