Good morning, Lawrence Park residents. We have been receiving lots of questions about tax collection. In November of last year, the Township elected a new tax collector. The new Tax Collector is named Rebecca Byers.
A few pieces of information to note: first, the Lawrence Park Township tax collector is a separately elected position. The tax collector operates independently of the Township Commissioners and the Township Administrative Office.
The position of tax collector has always been a part-time one. The Township was fortunate that our prior tax collector was able to be here during the day, but our new tax collector has a full-time job outside of the Township and no longer has an office within the Township administrative offices. The Township administrative office now serves as a drop-off location for residents to pay their taxes.
