Residents should be aware that strong storms are expected to move through our area later today. Conditions may bring:
• Heavy rain
• Damaging wind gusts
• Large hail
• Possible isolated tornadoes
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook, stating that rain and thunderstorms are expected along and ahead of a cold front crossing the region this afternoon and evening. Damaging winds will be the main threat, and conditions can change quickly.
This outlook includes east central Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and northern West Virginia.
Please take a few precautions:
• Secure loose outdoor items (furniture, decorations, trash cans)
• Be prepared to move indoors quickly if storms develop
• Monitor local weather alerts and warnings
• Avoid travel during severe weather if possible
