Description
In an effort to continue professional development, our trustees, fiscal officer, and zoning inspector attended the Ohio Township Trustee Association's 2026 Winter Conference, from February 4th - February 6th, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The three-day event was an excellent educational and networking opportunity for our officers.

Educational sessions included:

Where Townships Get Their Money
Public Records Training
Strategies for Cleaning Up Nuisance Properties
Understanding Zoning Classifications
Trustee Oversight of Fire, Police, and EMS
Fire Service Grants
Use of Drones
Implications of Eliminating Real Estate Taxes
Legal Updates Regarding HB 96 and HB315
Voted Levies and Inside Millage
and many more...

They heard presentations by Governor Mike Dewine and Representative David Thomas. Between sessions, they met officials from other townships and discussed common issues facing townships today. They also visited numerous vendor booths to learn about equipment, goods, and services that could benefit the township and its residents. One of those vendors was Savvy Citizen, the creator of this app, which will help township officials quickly and efficiently communicate with our residents.

Overall, our officials agreed that it was a beneficial experience and they returned home better equipped and more committed to serving the residents of Plymouth Township.
