Are you interested in giving back to your community and helping your neighbors during a disaster? Join the York County Community Emergency Response Team!
The primary purpose of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is to educate volunteers about disaster preparedness and teach them basic disaster response skills. The CERT program offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks. York County CERT will be used to assist the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) with sheltering, damage assessment, monitor and decontamination (MON/DECON), and points of distribution (POD) efforts, among other skills, during disasters.
