...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR DIXIE COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING DUE TO CRITICALLY LOW HUMIDITY AND GUSTY WINDS...
The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM EST
this evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 034 and 134.
* WIND...Northwest winds 12 to 18 mph with gusts up to 25
mph.
* HUMIDITY...As low as 23 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
