Description
With the current stretch of extremely cold temperatures, the Borough would like to remind residents of the increased risk of frozen pipes inside homes and buildings.

To help prevent interior pipes from freezing, residents are encouraged to:

--Allow a slow drip from faucets connected to exterior walls
--Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate
--Keep homes adequately heated, even when away
--Seal or insulate areas where cold air may enter, such as around pipes, windows, and doors
--Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses if not already done

Frozen pipes can burst and cause significant water damage. If a pipe inside a home or building freezes or breaks, residents are encouraged to contact a licensed plumber for assistance.

The Borough will continue to monitor and maintain the public water system throughout this cold-weather period.
