Description
Extreme Cold Watch issued January 30 at 12:14AM EST until February 1 at 1:00PM EST by NWS Tallahassee FL

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 4 above possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Big Bend and Panhandle Florida and south
central and southwest Georgia.

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.

Wear protective clothing such as a hat, facemask and heavy gloves or
mittens if you have plans to be outdoors.

To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes
they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those
that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover
above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.
