Description
Freeze Warning issued January 26 at 12:28PM EST until January 27 at 11:00AM EST by NWS Tallahassee FL

* WHAT...For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills
as low as 10 degrees expected. For the Freeze Warning,
sub-freezing temperatures as low as 18 degrees expected.

* WHERE...South Central Georgia and the Southeast Florida Big Bend.

* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 11 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged
exposure. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.

Wear protective clothing such as a hat, facemask and heavy gloves or
mittens if you have plans to be outdoors.

To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes
they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those
that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover
above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
