Check out this handy map from Allegheny County's Government: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/905cd98d8cbf477d99c191fb88ce0411?fbclid=IwY2xjawPXLdpleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeBqaMABroC3DEYXC8ghkWBY2zec469uwKJeOWs7aAFrcc1gLLWCeVm945mXA_aem_tmuCh3LngQCFWSKPqz8dWA
Tarentum Borough plows almost every road in town, even many that aren’t technically ours, through winter maintenance agreements with both Allegheny County and PennDOT. This helps keep things safe and consistent during snow events.
But when it comes to road repairs, the responsibility typically stays with whoever owns the road:
-Borough Roads → Repaired by Tarentum Borough
-County Roads → Repaired by Allegheny County
-State Roads (like Freeport Rd/10th Ave) → Repaired by PennDOT
PennDOT has a major restoration projects scheduled within the next two years for:
- Freeport/10th Avenue
- Stuart Bridge (Tarentum Bridge)
We’ll keep the community updated as timelines are finalized.
