Description
Snow Squall Warning issued December 29 at 11:57PM EST until December 30 at 12:30AM EST by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 1157 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located over
Sturgeon-Noblestown, or near Moon Township, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts up
to 35 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.
This includes the following highways...
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 57 and 61.
Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 52 and 66.
Parkway North between mile markers 1 and 3.
Interstate 376 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 50 and 83.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Monroeville, Moon
Township, McKeesport, West Mifflin, North Side Pittsburgh, Baldwin,
Upper St. Clair, Murrysville, Scott Township, Wilkinsburg, Whitehall,
South Park Township, Robinson Township, Munhall, Jefferson Hills, and
North Versailles.
Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are
expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden
whiteout conditions.
