Description
National Weather Service, Pittsburgh PA
🌬️ WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST TUESDAY
A period of impactful weather is expected across the area today and into tonight. Wind gusts may reach up to 50 mph, which could make travel difficult—especially for high‑profile vehicles. Temperatures will also drop sharply throughout the day, and snow showers are expected to become more widespread this afternoon and evening. A few intense snow squalls are likely to develop as well. These squalls can cause sudden low visibility, rapid snow accumulation, and dangerous travel conditions, particularly as roads begin to freeze.
In an Emergency:
📞 Call 911 immediately.
Additional Safety Reminders:
🚧Watch for downed power lines, fallen trees, and broken tree limbs. High winds may cause debris to fall or blow onto roadways so be alert and drive slowly in areas with limited visibility.⚡
🚗If You Must Travel: Allow extra time to reach your destination. Slow down and increase your following distance. Stay alert for sudden changes in weather and road conditions.
❄️ Our Public Works crews will be working throughout the storm to keep our roads safe. Please use caution and give them plenty of space to operate. We also ask that you move your vehicle into your driveway or off the roadway so crews can safely maneuver plows and properly treat and clear the roads.
Stay safe, stay warm, and remain aware—conditions can change quickly.
