What a whirlwind end to 2025 it has been!
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our Council, Staff, and the many residents who stepped up to assist with projects and events. Your involvement truly makes Bayou Vista shine.
2025 Highlights
✔ Appointed two new Aldermen and a new Mayor ProTem
✔ Balanced Budget Approved – Minimal tax increase
✔ New Police Chief Hired – Welcome Chief Danny Sendejas!
✔ Fully Staffed Police Department – Officers now radar-trained
✔ Building Inspector Replaced
✔ Community Events – First-ever National Night Out & Veterans’ Day Pancake Breakfast
✔ Savvy Citizen Implemented – Keeping residents informed
✔ Council Technology Upgrade – Distributed iPads purchased in 2024 but never used
✔ Winter Wonderland – Over 100 children and their families attended
✔ Festive Parades – 23 golf carts & 21 boats participated
✔ Facility Improvements – Approved MUD12 and Police Dept. office swap for better space utilization
✔ Court Clerk Certification – Training completed in Austin
✔ FEMA Reimbursement Funds Received
✔ TXDOT Partnership – Ditch cleaning along I45 service road arranged at no cost to the City

➡ Monitor $500,000 Galveston County Bond Election drainage study of Bayou Vista

➡ Explore community space improvements
➡ Plan City sponsored Easter Egg Hunt
➡ Plan summer concert series and/or Karaoke in the Park
