Description
Rain and snow showers are expected today, skies will remain cloudy, and temperatures will drop quickly—falling to around 25° by late afternoon. Snow accumulation is expected to be less than one inch, but impacts may still be felt.
💨 Strong Winds:
A passing cold front will bring strong west winds of 21–24 mph, with gusts between 35–45 mph at times. Please take a moment to secure loose outdoor items such as trash cans, decorations, and patio furniture. Due to the strong winds, be mindful of trees, falling limbs, and other debris. Avoid parking under trees when possible, and use caution when walking or driving, as limbs may fall without warning.
⚠️ Black Ice Risk:
As temperatures rapidly fall below freezing, wet roads, bridges, sidewalks, parking lots, and other untreated surfaces may freeze, creating dangerous patches of black ice.
🚧 Road Treatment:
Our Public Works crew will be out treating roads as conditions change. Please use caution around work vehicles and give crews plenty of space so they can work safely.
🌙 Tonight:
Cloudy early, then gradually clearing with lows around 19°. Winds will slowly decrease overnight but may still gust at times.
🚗 Safety Reminders:
• Use extra caution while driving and walking
• Allow yourself extra travel time
• Watch for black ice, especially on bridges and shaded areas
• In case of an emergency, call 911
Please stay safe and take precautions as conditions change throughout the day.
