The City of Hutchins is proud to announce the six outstanding individuals who will be honored as Hometown
Heroes during our annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 13, 2025!
These remarkable community members have gone above and beyond to serve, inspire, and uplift Hutchins through education, public service, military duty, and civic engagement. Join us as we celebrate:
✨ Jailyn Woods-McGarthy – Parent Support Specialist and community connector at Wilmer Hutchins Elementary
✨ Terence Rogers – Dedicated teacher, coach, and founder of the Egbe young men’s group
✨ Omar Uriel – U.S. Marine and active community volunteer
✨ David Coleman – Park Board member and tireless civic contributor
✨ James Spence – Senior Meal Program supporter and civic contributor
✨ Garry Jones – Hutchins’ first Black police officer and Vietnam veteran
📍 Parade begins at 12:00 PM
📍 Award Ceremony to follow immediately after the parade @2:30pm Campbell Park
