Description
Good evening, Lawrence Park residents,

With a Lake Effect Snow Warning beginning at 1:00 AM tonight and snow expected through Thanksgiving Day, our Public Works team has been working diligently to prepare for winter road conditions.

Our staff has already converted the dump truck for winter use, installing the plow and salt spreader to ensure the Township is ready for overnight snow bands.

We recognize that leaf pickup moved slower than usual this year. A major mechanical failure in October prevented our team from making as many passes as we had planned. Since repairs were completed late last week, staff have been working hard to cover every street in the Township. We also have plans in place to avoid similar delays in the future.

Unfortunately, once the snow-removal equipment is installed, the truck can no longer tow the leaf vacuum. As a result, leaf-vacuum operations have concluded for the season.

Public Works will continue to collect bagged leaves, so please continue placing clear bagged leaves at the curb.

As we shift into snow-plowing operations, this is also a friendly reminder about changeover parking.

To keep streets safe and accessible during lake-effect conditions, it is essential that vehicles be moved promptly to the correct side of the street on changeover days. While the Township does not often tow vehicles, the ordinance does permit towing, and LPPD will coordinate towing when necessary to clear blocked plow routes.

Thank you for your cooperation, and we wish you and your families a safe, warm, and Happy Thanksgiving.
