Description
Due to significant damage to a utility pole, the Borough is forced to take an emergency power outage beginning at approximately 11:30 AM. This outage is necessary to stabilize the pole and ensure the safety of our crews and the public.
We anticipate the work may take up to 2.5 hours to complete.
The outage area will be fairly large, affecting customers from Bridge to Ross Street and from 2nd Avenue through parts of 5th Avenue.
Please note that Borough phone lines will also be out during this outage, as our systems are connected to the power supply in the affected area.
These steps are temporary measures to stabilize the pole. A permanent replacement will be planned and scheduled in the coming weeks.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as our Electric Department works as quickly and safely as possible.
As a reminder, please be mindful of your surroundings when operating any vehicle, especially large vehicles, near utility poles and Borough infrastructure. Preventing damage helps avoid outages, costly repairs, and keeps our community safe.
