Description
Good Afternoon, Fellow Township Residents:
Over the past several days, I have participated in multiple meetings to address the ongoing noise concerns related to Vitro Auto Glass. Earlier today, I met with both Vitro management and representatives from Air Products to discuss the current situation and identify solutions to reduce the noise coming from the oxygen plant.
After productive discussions, the following steps are being implemented:
1. Immediate Action: Effective immediately, Air Products will temporarily shut down their plant operations between the hours of 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM. During this time, oxygen will be trucked in to maintain production needs.
2 . Short-Term Noise Reduction: Beginning later this week or early next week, Air Products will install scaffolding and begin enclosing the area generating the noise. They will then implement sound-dampening curtains as a short-term measure to help reduce the noise levels.
3. Long-Term Solution: Once all necessary materials arrive for the permanent noise mitigation system, installation will begin immediately. This long-term fix is expected to take place in the coming months. We expect this solution to greatly reduce the amount of noise coming from the oxygen plant.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as these improvements are carried out. I will continue to provide updates as progress is made.
Respectfully,
Kurt Dennis
Greenwood Township Supervisor Chairman
