Description
NOTICE: Hydrant flushing will occur from October 6, 2025, through October 16, 2025. This important maintenance is necessary to ensure water quality and remove sediment buildup in the distribution system. Flushing helps maintain proper water flow and pressure throughout the Borough and allows us to identify and repair any issues in our system.
The following schedule is subject to change. Beginning on Monday, October 6, 2025, flushing will commence on the east side of Tarentum and progress westward as the process continues.
Week 1:
-Mon. 10/6 – E 1st through E 2nd
-Tue. 10/7- E 3rd through E 5th
-Wed. 10/8 – E 7th through E 8th
-Thur. 10/9 – E 9th through E 10th
-Fri. 10/10 – E 11th and surrounding areas
Week 2:
-Mon. 10/13 – W 6th and W 7th areas
-Tue. 10/14 – W 8th and W 9th areas
-Wed. 10/15 – W 10th and W 11th
-Thur. 10/16 – West Tarentum surrounding areas
Please note that during flushing in your area, you may experience temporary low water pressure or discoloration of the water. If you notice brown or discolored water, briefly run your cold water to clear the line.
Important Note: Please Do Not Call 911 for Discolored Water. Residents should not call 911 over discolored water. This is a common and temporary occurrence during hydrant flushing.
