Description
Lawrence Park Township is continuing work on the new sanitary sewer lift station, and we are pleased to report that the project is progressing on schedule. At our monthly project meeting this morning, we confirmed that all work remains on track.
For those who may not recall from our earlier update, a lift station is a critical piece of infrastructure that helps move wastewater from lower-lying areas up to higher elevations, where it can then flow by gravity to treatment facilities. Without it, our sewer system would not be able to properly handle wastewater, which could lead to backups, health risks, and costly emergency repairs.
The new lift station will provide residents with a more reliable, modern, and efficient system that meets current environmental and engineering standards. In addition to improving service and reducing the risk of failures, the project is being designed with long-term durability and community impact in mind.
Estimated Timeline:
The lift station itself is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2025.
Once the station is online, contractors will complete the surrounding site work, including beautification, fencing, and final cleanup. This stage is planned for late spring or early summer of 2026.
We recognize that any project of this size and scope can be disruptive, but it is one of the most important investments a township can make. By upgrading our sewer infrastructure now, we are helping protect both public health and the long-term financial stability of the community.
