Special Weather Statement issued August 23 at 5:57AM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL
At 557 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles northeast of Horseshoe Point, or 10 miles southwest of Cross
City, moving east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Cross City, Horseshoe Point, Suwannee, Horseshoe Beach, Shamrock,
Shired Island, Cross City Airport, Old Town, Eugene, Yellow Jacket,
and Fanning Springs.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
